Notice of Death


Jonathan Kyle Briese

The IAFC deeply regrets to announce the death of Garry & Roni’s son, Jonathan Briese.  Jonathan passed away shortly after
3:00 pm (EST) on Saturday, February 19th, from complications after minor surgery.

Jonathan was 20 years old and a third-year cadet at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in New London, Connecticut. He was an Eagle Scout, and he had completed a number of Boy Scouts of America high adventure
treks.  Jonathan had a lifelong affiliation with the fire service. He worked part-time for the IAFC, and he served for a time with
the Burke Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department.

The service will be at 11 a.m. (EST) on Friday, February 25, 2000, at:

The Briese family has asked that uniformed members of the fire and emergency services wear Class A uniforms. If these uniforms are not available, please dress appropriately. The service will start promptly at 11 a.m. (EST), so please be at the temple no later than
10:45 a.m. (EST).

Following the service there will be a procession to Arlington National Cemetery, where Jonathan will be laid to rest. The graveside service is scheduled to begin
promptly at 2 p.m. (EST).

refrain from calling our offices or
the Briese residence.
