Text Box: The Director’s Corner

Are you delighted with all of our new exhibits? I know I sure am! I would like to thank our wonderful exhibit committee for working so hard to continue providing interesting and educational displays for all to see. We are very excited to have many new faces assist with our displays this year.

I also extend my appreciation to everyone who has loaned or given the museum interesting artifacts for display purposes. The artifacts you share with us and the community help enhance the exhibits, and provide a glimpse of what life was once like in our proud county.

If you have not visited the museum lately, please try to stop by and see all of the fascinating new exhibits that are currently on display. If you think that you might enjoy helping the exhibit committee with future exhibits, let us know. Thank you for your support.
Text Box: Wheelchair Available

The museum extends thanks to Samuel C. Fisher at Community Pharmacy for a much needed donation of a wheelchair. Now everyone will be able to enjoy the exhibits.

Poetry for Children

Ruthann Anderson provided a Saturday of fun for our children when she entertained them with her poetry. Her books are available in our gift shop along with many other local talent’s work.

Tree of Angel Bears

Don’t forget to support the museum by placing an ornament on our tree, located in the lobby, in memory or honor of someone dear. Your ornament may be taken home or given to someone special after the holidays.

Marque of Museum Events

The Old Timers Restaurant, located on the corner of Old Halifax and Love Shop Road in Centerville, is a great place to get a bite to eat and find out about all that is happening at the museum. As you enter the restaurant and look to your left, there is a large informative display that includes old pictures of the county, current exhibits, and a map for directions to the museum. You can even pick up a museum brochure while you are there. Stop by and see it!
