Taking a love for horses and photography, I combined the two at a local saddle club show and the business was formed. In 1984 I opened "Photos by Hinde " in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Along with the saddle club shows I expanded my photographic services to the local hunter/jumper and dressage shows for the next year. With contacts made during that year I was able to expand my coverage of equestrian events in Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania and North Carolina.
Besides the equestrian events I had a portrait studio, photographic services included, but were not limited to, weddings, pets, youth sport leagues and daycare groups, formal portraits at events like the Navy Ball.
In 1986 requests for video taping were increasing, so I added a camcorder to my line of equipment. Over the next two years I found myself doing more work with videos than photography, so in 1988 video services became the major focus of the business with photography second.
As the video work expanded I began working with editing equipment and creating small projects for Lucas Travel School to show at trade fairs.
Wedding videos was another area where editing was a plus, as photographs, titles and music could be added to enhance the memory of that special day.
As the business expanded the requests for videos at horse shows increased and I found myself doing more work at dressage shows than any other type of
equestrian event.I wanted to move from Virginia Beach due to the population growth, I had the opportunity in 1992 and relocated to Louisa, Virginia.
Louisa is located between Richmond and Charlottesville, along the I-64 corridor. This allows me greater flexibility in traveling and puts me in a better position to serve the equestrian community.
The popularity and demand for my video services increased so much that in 1995 I changed the name of the company to "Hinde Video Services."
