The farm was deeded to the Boyd family in 1847 and has been in the same family for a 153 years. The original farm was almost 400 acres in size. Over the years pieces of the farm were sold leaving 175 acres of pastures and woods.

In 1992 I had the opportunity to move to Cherry Grove Farm to be the caretaker and maintain the farm. Working by myself, vast improvements were made in 4 short years, as shown in the photos from 1992 and 1996.

Today the farm is mainly involed in the production of hay and the raising of beef cattle.
