Cabin's Zinnias

Height:16"
Width:20"

Description: Acrylic on canvas...from a photo I took many years ago. This is my first painting of flowers.

We were living in a very old "rustic" home. When we moved in, there was no running water or insulation. There are far too many memorable stories to go into here. This one day was late Summer going on evening. The weather was very unusual...coming through the plastic covered window behind the flowers set infront of your sink (yes, we plumbed). The Zinnias were starting to fade, but were still beautiful, so I took the photo to remember the time. I hardly ever use a flash when taking pictures...hate the effect. The lighting was rather poor, so the photo was used for inspiration...the painting took on a life of its own...but, paintings do that in any case.
