About Western Humanities Review:
Western Humanities Review, a national literary journal published at the University of Utah, has been in continuous publication since 1947. We have published the early work of some of America's most distinctive voices: Wallace Stegner, Robert Oppenheimer, Ursula Le Guin, Annie Dillard, Raymond Carver and many others. We continue to seek fresh and original works of fiction, poetry, creative non-fiction and literary scholarship by both emerging and established writers. Work first published in WHR has been reprinted or cited in the Pushcart Prize Anthology, the O. Henry Prize, Best American Short Stories and Best American Poetry.
Published twice a year, in April and October.
