In fifteen poems the author reveals a unique voice: victim and feminist, lyrical yet surreal, symbolist and descriptive. Ms. Rigby manages to meld these traditions: “...in my left hand,/ the knife. Eggs balance on the tip./ The bass hangs, its zippery spine/ loose.../ …The woman on Vine/ wore flannel. Maybe her skin smelled/ like pilings.../ A man carries/ sperm like a black suitcase.”
