Why are you selling books online?
Our primary mission at Poetry Daily is to make it easier for people to find poets
and poetry they like, and easier also for publishers and editors to bring news of
their books, magazines and journals to more people. When we began Poetry Daily we received numerous messages from readers requesting that we make it easier to locate and purchase books by the poets we feature. Our asociation with Amazon.com is the result of those requests. In addition, the small referral fee we earn when a book is sold through Poetry Daily helps us to defray the costs of operating our site.

Why should I buy books from Poetry Daily/Amazon.com?
When you discover poetry you enjoy on our site, we hope you will decide to support both poets and their publishers by buying the books or subscribing to the journals in which more work by your new favorite poets may be found. Should you decide to purchase books online, you will also be supporting Poetry Daily if you do so through us: as a result of our association with Amazon.com, we earn a small "referral fee" when you order. Thus, your purchases will help us to continue bringing you "Today's Poem" and our other poetry features, as well as to meet our goal of making contemporary poetry accessible to the broadest possible audience.

How do I browse for books on your site?
The best way to browse is through the Poetry Daily archive, indexed by poet or poem title. When you find a poem that interests you, click on the poet's name-link below the poem. This will lead you to the related "feature page," which contains information about the poet and the poem's source. At the bottom of each feature page there is a listing of books currently available for sale by the featured poet.
There are two other ways to browse. We list the newest books we've received from publishers in the New Arrivals section of our News page. Clicking on a book link will take you to information about the book at Amazon.com. Also, our Publications Noted & Received page keeps track of all of the books we've received from publishers in recent months. Clicking on a book link will take you either to a feature page, when a "Today's Poem" selection has been made previously, or to an information page at Amazon.com.

How do I select books?
Amazon.com's ordering process is fairly intuitive, and the best way to learn is to "try it out." You can always remove items from your shopping cart up to the very last moment before your purchase.
Briefly, when you see a book title that interests you in one of our listings, simply click on the title in the format you desire (hardcover, paperback, etc.). This will connect you to the appropriate page at Amazon.com. If you are interested in ordering the book, click on the "Add to Shopping Cart" button. (NOTE: you may remove items from your shopping cart at any time; you are not obligated to buy these items.)
If you wish to resume browsing on our site, use your browser's "back" button or one of the Poetry Daily links to the left of the screen. Or if you are ready to order, simply click on the "Proceed to Checkout" button which appears after you have added an item to your cart.
You will have several opportunities to check your order, or remove items from your shopping cart, before you submit your order. Give it a try!
Amazon.com will send a confirming email shortly after your order is submitted.

Why don't you have a listing for my favorite poet?
Our poetry archive contains only poets that have been featured previously on Poetry Daily, and generally only recent titles. However, you may find books by additional poets on our Publications Noted & Received page. If there is no listing for a specific poet, keep looking in we are adding new material (and new book listings) every day.
Why don't you list ALL of my favorite poet's books?
Generally, we list on our "feature" pages a selection of recent books currently in print and available through Amazon.com. However, if the list does not include a particular title you are interested in, simply use the search form that follows below the list to see if the book is in print and carried by Amazon.com.

Do you only feature poets who have many books for sale?
No. We choose poetry from the entire range of published sources available to us. We bring you some very well-known and heavily published poets, but also poets who are making their first appearances in poetry journals and magazines. We do not consider a poet's bibliography when we select "Today's Poem."
