David Lehman is the author of five collections of poems, including When a Woman Loves a Man and Other Poems (2005), and several books of criticism, including The Last Avant-Garde: The Making of the New York School of Poets (1998). He is also the series editor of The Best American Poetry. He teaches at the New School University in New York.
