For years I have tormented hundreds of friends and aquaintances (okay, four or five) with this image, refusing to reveal it's meaning. Well, that all got blown to hell when Don Dennis went and figured it out (he won a copy of Aquire). I never should have let someone who studied design look at the thing.

Anyway, since Don figured it out, I shall let the rest of you in on it, too. It's God represented as two people making love. Give me a minute and I'll try to explain. Then you can lynch me if you still want to.

I believe in the fractal nature of the universe. That is, I believe that the universe is self-similar. This goes back to the "made in God's image" bit. For a long time this was used to show God's masculinity. Then feminists came along, and said that it proved God was female. If God is like us, and gave us life (the argument goes), She must be female, since women give life to human children. Now either these two arguments were made by four year olds, or theologists are not well versed on human sexuality.

How does this relate to the universe being self-similar? Well, I also believe that God is the universe. So if the universe is similar to us, so is God, and we go back to the "made in God's image" bit. As it takes two human sexes to make life, so it must have taken two sexes for God to create the universe, which is all life including Themself. God is both a female and a male.

But the universe is one thing. How can it be a female and a male and be one thing? I don't believe it is hermaphroditic, because that's not self-similar. It's like the Tao, which is Yin and Yang, but one thing. Don't reject it just because you don't understand it. To assume that you are able to fully comprehend the nature of God would be hubris, right?

The way I see it, taking in the Big Bang and the expansion of the universe, is that He and She came together out of lonliness and desire, and in a glorious moment of orgasm, melded energy and matter to create the universe and Themself. Guilt over the act is tearing Them apart. If they do not reconcile, the universe may be spread too thin. If they rebound too hard, the universe could down in the flames of a destructive relationship. We, as parts of God, must help Them to form a healthy and loving relationship, so that our minds can enjoy immortality within God.

Now, was that just a bit more about the inside of Ichabod's head than you really wanted to know? If so, then you might want to stay away from this section of my page. In the coming months I intend to expand on the above crash course in my beliefs, as I search for and discover them myself.
