Standard Drop Shoulder Adult Pullover: Worksheet                                             Date:

Fill in the shaded areas based on your gauge swatch, actual wrist measurement and the dimensions of a sweater that fits as you like. Complete remaining calculations, rounding off C-K to nearest even whole number.

            Remainder=_______=R

______(N)-_____(R)=________=S

Increase every ______(Q+1) rows, _____(R) times

Then inc. every ______(Q) rows, ______(S) times

Notes:

For wrist measurement, measure around person’s wrist at the wrist bone.

For other measurements use a drop shoulder sweater that fits:

            Front/back width = measure underarm to underarm

            Front/back length = measure length, not including ribbing

            Armhole length = measure underarm to shoulder

            Sleeve length = measure length, not including ribbing

A standard neckline opening of 7” wide and 3.5” long is used.

Two stitches are added to body and sleeve width for seaming.

The transition from sleeve ribbing to sleeve bottom includes increased stitches equaling twice the stitch gauge.  The transition from body ribbing to the front and back does not include increased stitches.   Feel free to alter the number of front and back ribbing stitches as was done for the sleeves.

The sleeve increase calculations are based on the Magic Formula, or Diophantine Equation.  Follow the instructions, using longhand division where noted.

The sleeve ribbing is about 2”; the sleeve ribbing, 3”.  Adjust to your preferences.
