Reflections: May 1998
Moving is Hell 01:04:29 EDT Moving from Manhattan to our house in Venice. Seems like a simple enough task. But let's add 3 cats . . . What about the birds, all six of them. I know, let's send the cars, too! It was amazin' but I'm here in one piece just in time to see the Lakers build me up and then do a major meltdown. Coach Del Harris calls it the malady of youth. Hell, Magic Johnson was 20 years old when he willed a Laker championship in his Rookie season, so I refuse to accept the youth theory. More like, THESE GUYS DON'T GOT ANY PRIDE! THE COACH DIDN'T MAKE ANY ADJUSTMENTS! THEY DIDN'T WATCH THE FILM! AND THERE WAS TOO MUCH TURMOIL IN THE OTHERWISE CALM LAKER FRONT OFFICE! I guess I'll have some time on my hands during the rest of the NBA Playoffs. Come on, Michael! Yea, Scotty! Make 'em crazy, Dennis!
I performed my ONSTAGE SINGERS WORKSHOP at Columbia College in the Northern Califronia mountains (Sonora). What a time we had. As students reveal themselves, I think I become a better singer. Demonstrations that seemed Godsent. What a rush. Congratulations, all you students, especially Eddie who set the tone and Elizabeth, who wrapped it like pro! New record soon. The material is here in California. Stay posted . . . Good News, Soon! FRANK SINATRA. YOU SING ON, YOU SPIRIT YOU! You know what was cool about Frank? He never gave the impression that he was anything but what he was. A splendid singer's singer, a musician and a guy who lived life to the very edge. A BAD BOY before "Bad" was in. UNAFRAID TO FLAUNT HIS FRIENDSHIPS NO MATTER WHO THEY WERE, Frank emptied his bottle of life every day. Rest In Peace.
I'm going to try to do this thing weekly or at least bi-monthly. I'm interested in hearing from you from time to time in response to this babble.
SOMEBODY SAY YEAH AND GOOD LUCK TO THE INDONESIANS IN THE HOUSE. AS USUAL, THE STUDENTS (THE YOUNG) SHALL LEAD!
LOVE, LIGHT AND PEACE
