Standing Committees
Members of the Human Resources, Finance, and Planning Committees are appointed by the Board of Directors from the membership. The Steering Committee consists of the officers of the Board of Directors. These four committees function as needed by the Association.
Finance Committee: Provides the Board of Directors with a review of the financial operations of LMOA, including recommendations for improving the financial operations; recommends a budget each fiscal year; and recommends systematic methods for the preparation of the budget. Meets the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 7:30 pm in the Crofton Room, except during budget preparation when additional meetings are scheduled.
Human Resources Committee: Provides the Board of Directors a review of human resource requirements of LMOA including recommendations regarding the creation, redefinition or elimination of staff positions and recommendations regarding compensation and benefits for LMOA staff. Meets the 2nd Monday of every month at 7:00 pm in the ECC Room.
Planning Committee: Responsible for developing and recommending to the Board of Directors a Master Plan and a Long Range Plan for implementing the Master Plan. Meets the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 7:00 pm in the Terrace Room.
Steering Committee: Plans the orderly and timely conduct of the business of the Board of Directors. Determines the agenda for meetings of the Board, including regular, special and executive meetings, and carries out other duties as the Board of Directors shall assign. Meets the 2nd Monday of every month at 6:00 pm in the ECC Room.
Operating Committees
Members of the Environmental Control, Compliance, Audit, Broadcast and Election Committees are appointed by the Board of Directors. Members serve as outlined in each committee charter and have specific ongoing responsibilities. Compliance Committee members must be former members of the Board of Directors.
Audit Committee: Primary interface between the auditor and the Board of Directors for the purpose of assuring accuracy, fairness and general acceptability of accounting records and statements as they relate to the financial and business interests of LMOA. Meets the 3rd Monday of every month at 7:30 pm in the Faulconer Room.
Broadcast Committee: Oversees the operation, engineering and programming of LMOA cable television broadcasts on LMOA government channel (cable channel 13). Meets the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 7:30 pm in the Faulconer Room.
Compliance Committee: Adjudicates violations of the policies, rules and regulations, including the Environmental Control Rules and Regulations; the several Covenants, Restrictions and Reservations; and other governing documents of the Association. Meets the 4th Wednesday of every month at 7:30 pm in the Terrace Room.
Election Committee: Supervises and coordinates the LMOA elections to obtain uniformity in their practices and proceedings and legality and purity in all elections. Meets as required.
Environmental Control Committee (ECC): Exercises the rights vested in the Association by the Covenants, Restrictions and Reservations included in the Statements of Subdivision; and administers the Environmental Control Rules and Regulations promulgated by the Board of Directors. Meets every Tuesday at 8:00 am in the ECC Office.
Advisory Committees
The Advisory Committees are comprised of LMOA members appointed by the Board of Directors to advise the Board on matters specific in their charters.
Building & Grounds Committee: Advises the Board in matters relating to the planning, construction, maintenance and appearance of existing and proposed buildings and grounds comprising LMOA common property except for the playing areas of the Golf Course and lake water quality and impoundment structures. Meets the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 3:00 pm in the Faulconer Room.
Food Services Committee: Advises the Board in matters affecting the food service operations at Lake Monticello. Meets the 2nd Thursday of every month at 7:00 pm in the Faulconer Room.
Golf Committee: Advises the Board in all matters pertaining to the Golf Course and the golfing program. Meets the 2nd Monday of every month at 7:30 pm in the Lakeview Room.
Lake Preservation Committee: Advises the Board in matters affecting the containment, including impoundment structures, and quality of waters within the Main Lake, Tufton Lake, the various ponds on the golf course, and other commonly owned properties of the Association which drain into the lakes. Meets the 2nd Wednesday of every month at 7:00 pm in the Faulconer Room.
Safety & Security Committee: Advises the Board in matters affecting the safety and security services and activities at Lake Monticello. Meets the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 7:00 pm in the Crofton Room.
Social & Recreation Committee: Advises the Board in all matters affecting provision of various social and recreational services and activities, excluding the golf course of the Association. Meets the 2nd Wednesday of every month at 7:00 pm in the Lakeview Room.
