	Deals in the past year have included advising Charles Sidney plc on its £16m agreed merger with
	Bletchley Motor Group plc, and acting for Halifax Courier Holdings Limited in its £37, acquisition
	by Johnston Press plc. Both Pinsent Curtis and Booth & Co. lost two youthful corporate stars in
	1994. Nick Painter - who has a strong bus company following - defected to Garrett & Co from
	Pinsent Curtis, and William Charnley left Booth & Co. for Simmons & Simmons (one of the few
	examples of regional players moving to London firms). Each took a number of clients with him,
	but the firms they left behind - while perceived locally to have had had a quieter year on the
	company/commercial front - have turned in solid performances (and both continue to have
	excellent reputations on the corporate finance side). For instance, Pinsent Curtis advised on the
	£5.35m sale for the Clugston Group Ltd and represented the Bradford Property Trust plc on its
	successful hostile £14.6M takeover of Harborne Tenants. It has also been building up its health
	sector practice - it advises the NHS Trust Federation amongst others.
