Brad Paton's Home Page on "le Web"

Some stuff that might be interesting sometime soon

Follow this link to what I hope proves to be a worthwhile See You On the Other Side page. I could theoretically have jumped to Sony's page from which the image originated, but it really is pretty lame, so why bother? Mercury Rev's Unofficial Home Page There used to be a bunch of stuff here about their new page at Sony, but both the link, and their affiliation with Sony are dead, but there isn't anything new at V2 yet (their new label), so I'll just leave this as commented.

Tired, so tired.

Some of My Most Traveled to Destinations, (or at least frequently worthwhile ones when I do happen to wander on by)

The Bands

Big Star. Once Upon a Time, it was truly done with style.
The Boos. Radleys, that is.
Space Age Bachelor Pad Music. Swank.
Son Volt. Truly the better half of what used to be Uncle Tupelo, no dis intended to Jeff. Though with the new Wilco album, I might at least finally claim parity between the two.
My Bloody Valentine. They made me realize.
Bob Mould/Sugar/Husker Du. Bob's the Man.

Given that not all of you might approve/agree with my limited band list, feel free to try the Ultimate Band List. Pretty definitive as near as I can tell.

Or maybe you just want to know when so and so is coming to town, who is going to be there when you get there, in which case, check out Pollstar. It's not completely accurate and up-to-date, but it's damn close to a nationwide database of acts/venues/cities.

The Culture

Daaaaaavid Lllletterman! Or at least the minute or so of the show that is regularly worthwhile.
The Dilbert Zone
Calvin and Hobbes - Oh, to be a child again. Or then again, maybe not.
Bloom County - Do you remember the last episode?

And The News

For those who are curious just what my day is supposed to be like.

A listing of computer magazines compiled by those evil little people at Microsoft that is a good place to start when looking for the latest and greatest on vaporware and other bad habits of modern living.

There used to be some stuff about some lame outdated soccer news on USA Today, but since ESPN is a much better site, and up-to-date, I'll just take you straight there.

Do you wanna see OJ Trial clips? Or FBI Surveillance clips? Well, I hope you either have a Macintosh, or have already conned somebody else into setting up your "Multimedia" Windows machine and head on to CNN.

One other news site worth singly mentioning is full of self-promotion, true, but still pretty reliably interesting nonetheless. HotWired. (That is some god-awful ugly green!)

And Now for Some Personal Stuff

These are the people who have to deal with me on a regular basis (at least whenever we all feel like actually showing up, but not necessarily working).

Here is a small "Rogues Gallery" of people without whom I'd be a much less cheerful person.

This place is under serious, and constant, (well I don't know about "constant", let's just say "infrequent") construction, so please don't hassle me about how lame it is. At least don't do it with your legitimate e-mail address.
