Stars! is a turn-based, multi-player game like the old Esterian Conquest BBS game. Everybody figures out what he wants to do, and turns the order files into the host. The host then runs a program that takes the orders and calculates the results, then sends the results to the players. The actual game itself is a great deal like Master of Orion.

This page mostly provides links to the other Stars! pages, and to the official Stars! page, and to other Stars! resources such as the shareware file and the mailing list. I also hope to host my own Stars! games when I receive my registered version, and this page will be a way to access my games. I may also add text files of strategy tips (when I'm proficient enough to give advice), etc.

the Stars! Mailing ListTo join the list, send an email to the above link with the subject "subscribe" (don't include the quotation marks). You'll be put on the list and can start learning all about the game. The mailing list is also the way to discuss the game with the authors.
Join
the Stars! Players' ListHilton Lange is a nice fellow who maintains a mailing list of Stars! players. He collects game advertisements from hosts and sends them to the several hundred Stars! players on his list. Then the players can email the hosts in a race to fill the available game slots. Hilton and another fellow named Alan Beall also have a host rating project going and a zillion other resources for Stars! players.
To join, just use the link above and send Hilton e-mail asking to join the list.

This is Hilton Lange's page. It is located in South Africa, so it may be a bit slow for US browsers. Still, it is one of the premiere Stars! sites.
This is Alan Beall's page. It ranks up there with Hilton's. Alan has a number of very interesting text files available for reading.
Andrew runs the mailing list. His page has the archives of the list
in case you can't live without reading everything you can get your hands
-- or browser -- on.
Brian has some interesting tips files. Currently they relate to the prior version, but he will have 2.5 tips out soon.
Jeff has a number of files giving tips and information, including The Art of War by Sun Tzu! Still a classic.
The
Netertainment ProjectNot really sure what this is, but it looks like a great site for computer gamers. They have a Stars! section that is under construction (like most Web sites!)
The above list of course is not exhaustive. I left some out and others I don't know about. If you know a Stars! page you think is way-cool, email me and let me know about it. No promises, but I'll look.
