The following PC-related magazines have their own web sites. Note that like all my pages this is not an exhaustive listing. These are just the ones I have come across. Some of the sites are excellent; others are just ok. Same with the magazines.
Byte is the best computer magazine around for those who want to learn some of the technical aspects of the industry, and to see where the industry is heading. They explain the technical aspects, but usually don't get so technical that a layperson can't follow. And they put things in context. I subscribe to Byte and generally go through it cover to cover. Check out "The Byte Site" on the web.
My other favorite mag. I have to limit my readership because reading Computer Shopper is sure to have me lusting after some piece of hardware or another. My wife hates to see the thing come into the house. But if you are looking to buy a computer, the Shopper is a MUST BUY.
This mag is a good one for relative newcomers to the home PC game, particularly for -- you guessed it -- families. They review software and hardware, and explain how things work on a real basic level. They also review weeb sited and are big on informing parents how to find kid-safe sites. I recommend this magazine for parents getting into the family PC thing.
Guess where I got all those game company links? They cover a lot of games and are a pretty good source of information. I buy this one on the stand now and then.
Just bought my first one today and am looking at it. Lots of juicy new games coming, and some new game links should appear on my list soon.
Email me and let me know what you think.
